Caragh Thuring

Caragh Thuring was born in Brussels in 1972 and moved to Britain with her family at the age of one. In 1995 she graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art. The artist lives and works in London.

Thuring's painting 'Arthur Kennedy' was produced during a residency in New York in 2012. Tanya Barson, Curator at the Tate and member of the OFT Selection Committee, commented on the decision to purchase the work for the Tate Collection: 'She is a young artist, towards the beginning of her career, but the gallery has looked at her for a while. This was the right piece to add to the collection.'
